The Wolf Queen by Tabitha Caplinger - Review

Thank you so much to Blue Ink Press for sending me this book for review! It’s been one of my most anticipated releases and I enjoyed the opportunity to read it early.

Where do I even begin? This book was just what I needed. I’ve been feeling quite the reading slump lately but this book pulled me out. The beautiful world of Valjalil, is full of light and darkness. It was easy to feel myself pulled in and connect to the characters. Ylva was so incredible but had her own flaws and doubts that made her feel very real. The full cast of characters ended up having a special place in my heart. The author, Tabitha Caplinger, has a way of telling stories that just grab you and characters you can’t help but love (or hate).

The story, a battle of light versus dark, is both internal and external. This book is filled with triumph, powerful characters, moments to make you hold your breath, and a bit of sweet romance. It gave me all the feels and would have me laughing one moment and crying the next. This book is a page turner and had me up late to finish. Beware of Chapter 41 though, my heart nearly exploded. I definitely recommend this book to everyone especially if you’re a fan of viking-esque books like Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young.
